Here is an oil painting of Aphrodite IX that I finished recently. The quality is not that great because of the crappy digital camera that I have. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I think its a good start. Keep practicing!
Oils are great for showing vividness of value and color. They don't dull like acrylics can.
And because they dont dry quickly, you can really do wonders blending, smoothing out your fields of color, and creating effects. Don't be afraid to experiment with them to see how they move and react.
For this pic, be careful of your values. The figure and the BGs are very similar in brightness. Try to separate them a bit more with contrast.
