Sneak Peek / Ayano

Digital Webbing | Ayano, BloodRayne 2 Comments »

ayano_draft.gifIf you’ve been following the posts in our forum, you’ll know Troy and I are ready to unleash a major new character in the BloodRayne series. Her name is Ayano and you’re gonna love her. Ayano first appears in the Tokyo Rogue mini-series and from there we’re spinning her into her own one-shot drawn by Scott Clark (artist on such titles as Spawn/WildCATS, and Alpha Flight).

From there, you can catch her in Old World Order and Zero Dawn (the 2 BloodRayne mini-series after Tokyo Rogue). And if all goes according to plan, we can keep putting out Ayano one-shots and mini-series. Maybe even a crossover with BloodRayne and Billy Tucci’s Shi.

Here’s a preliminary drawing of Ayano as drawn by Don Walker. This is actually a digitized version of a fax. heh.

E_ManIdol.gifHere’s a peek at the wraparound cover for E-Man’s third issue from Digital Webbing Press. Y’know, these E-Man comics are like mini-movies, a new one every year. Joe, Nick, Randy, Matt and myself pour our heart and soul into these adventures so it’s no wonder we need a little breather between issues.

Look for E-Man: Idol in early summer ‘08. It’s an extra-length tale that’s worth the wait! Stay tuned for more details right here on this blog.

Prime Cuts Exclusive

BRPrime01.jpgPrime Cuts #1 is right around the corner (ETA February). We had offered it through the distribution system like all our other issues, but a SNAFU on the distributor end forgot to offer a incentive cover. So to remedy this, we’re going to offer this book either as an exclusive for some lucky online retailer or just make it a Digital Webbing store exclusive. Stay tuned to see the final outcome.

This cover was illustrated and colored by Digital Webbing forum member Scott Clark. Some of you may remember Scott’s work on titles like Alpha Flight, Avengelyne, Cable, Stormwatch, Spawn/WildCATS and many, many others.

Scott is also the artist on the upcoming Ayano one-shot, a spin-off title from BloodRayne expected to be released early this summer.

Fist of Justice #2

FistOfJustice_02.jpgDoes the cover on the right look familiar? Yeah, it was originally drawn to be the limited edition cover for issue #1. I’ve decided to make it a regular cover so everyone could enjoy it. As a limited edition, only a few would have gotten their grubby little mitts on it.

Looks like the second issue crew is in place — which I’ll reveal later. And if it works out, he wants to draw more issues. Now there’s a stunning concept, having a regular artist on FOJ. Currently Chad Hardin holds the record with two consecutive issues.

Speaking of Chad, he’s doing well for himself. He’s banging away on Warhammer and some other top secret stuff. But you wait, eventually we’ll draw him back in. Count on it!

Look for Fist of Justice #2 in better comic shops this April. Issue #1 hits in January.

Several new, important characters will be introduced in this story arc. Writer Troy Wall has some crazy plans for the next story arc after this, so you’ll need to check this out to be teased about it. We’ll see if we can get Troy to answer a couple questions here and there after the holidays.
