Okay, he doesn’t really. But Fist of Justice has been picked up by French company Dante Comics and will see his Digital Webbing Presents adventures reprinted and translated for release by the end of this year.

The graphic novel collection will include FOJ’s first appearance from Digital Webbing Presents #24 illustrated by Anthony Castrillo, his full-length chapters drawn by Chad Hardin, Yildiray Cinar, Dario Carrasco, and Anderson Nascimento. This collection is covered by an unpublished piece of art by Yildiray Cinar, so I’m extremely happy it gets to see print.

Look for Fist of Justice in France this November.

Speaking of FOJ, he returns this November in the final issue of Digital Webbing Presents (for now) #36. The plan is to continue FOJ in his own one-shots and mini-series. One of which is a crossover with E-Man and Shadowhawk. More details to follow as we get closer, true believers!

Geeks of Doom has high praise for Joshua Gamon and Adrian Sibar’s Abigail & Rox in the Land of Enchantment, saying that the one-shot “conjures up memories of early 90’s Vertigo Comics fantasy”:

[Gamon's] version of Wonderland leans slightly more toward the anarchic attitude of American McGee version than the psychedelic mind trip of Disney’s interpretation (don’t worry, Abigail isn‘t armed with a knife). He has created in Abigail a fearless and strong-willed young girl that younger readers can identify with. She has positive attributes that girl readers can connect with, but certainly does not alienate potential boy readers. Gamon doesn’t treat his adult readers with kid gloves though, and in a telling strength to his writing abilities, has created a comic that is indeed for “all readers,” and like a fairy tale, different aged readers will get a different experience out of his tale.

… To further the Vertigo analogy, Sibar’s artwork here is slightly reminiscent of Jill Thompson fantasy-themed work with a dash of Sam Keith’s penchant for rounded shapes and figures. His colors take a small nod to The Wizard Of Oz, as his real-world is filled with drab grays where the only color seems to be purple. But once the transition is made to the Enchanted World, Sibar breaks out a full spectrum of bright and vivid colors. It is a perfect compliment to Gamon’s untamed imagination.

With the second BloodRayne miniseries, Red Blood Run, set to kick off next week July 11, I cornered writer Troy Wall to find out what brings everyone’s favorite dhampir to Mexico City.

Kevin: Fingers crossed, BloodRayne: Red Blood Run #1 should hit stores next week. What can readers expect from the new miniseries?

Troy: Yeah, hopefully the evil empire also known as Diamond will get the book out next week and, most importantly, on shelves across America. We’ve had problems with Diamond missing release dates and also releasing it on only one side of the Mississippi. But those are the dice when you have a monopolistic company as your sole option. Ha! *Ahem* … With Red Blood Run, readers can certainly look forward to a decidedly darker direction for the book. Seedier settings, more mature plots and subplots that were developed specifically for a trip to the shadowy underworld of Mexico City.

The miniseries itself is named for the vampire slave trade that Rayne and her pal Valerio investigate during the series — the Red Blood Run.

In the Punks forum, Kody Chamberlain — whose upcoming Boom! Studios miniseries The Foundation was just optioned by Paramount — unveils the cover of the convention limited edition for Punks: The Comic Summer Special 2007 #1.

The 48-page one-shot hits shelves next month the last week of August.

Sword of Dracula creator Jason Henderson will be interviewed tomorrow night on Public Radio International’s Fair Game with Faith Salie. If none of your local radio stations carry the show, you’ll be able to download the interview from the PRI website.

While we’re sneaking and, um, peeking, let’s take a look at another title due out in August, the 40-page Zombie Highway: Directionless one-shot.

Writer Jason Pell has rolled out a five-page preview in the Zombie Highway forum — and, as if that’s not enough, he’s made available the entire Volume 1 graphic novel at the book’s MySpace page. For free!

There’s plenty of action in BloodRayne: Red Blood Run #2 — if you picked up Raw II, you’ve already gotten a taste — but I think some of the best parts are the lighter moments, particularly those between Rayne and her old friend Valerio. (You’ll meet him in Issue 1, which should be in stores July 5. With Valerio, Troy’s created my favorite supporting character in the BloodRayne universe.)

Here’s one of those moments, when Rayne and Valerio share an elevator ride to — well, that would be telling.

Digital Webbing Presents #34 featuring The Enigmas hits better comic shops on July 11th. Be sure to bug your comic shop for this issue since it’s virtually the first appearance of Dustin Yee’s Enigmas. I can tell you, you will laugh while reading this. There’s some funny stuff going on here.
